The Bhootnii 2025 Movie Story
The story is set around the famous Virgin Tree at St. Vincent’s College. Every Valentine’s Day, this mystical tree awakens a spirit that yearns for true love. When a student named Shantanu (played by Sunny Singh) makes a special wish under the tree, he unknowingly triggers the spirit, starting a crazy 27-day period of love, obsession, and terror — all culminating on the night of Holika Dahan (a major festival symbolizing the victory of good over evil).

The Bhootnii 2025 Movie Review
Sunny, once captivating as Chauka and Sonu, has settled into the reliable second-lead role, but here, he barely registers. Hampered by sluggish writing or perhaps his own disinterest, he drifts through the film, delivering lines as if reading from a cue card. Devoid of charm or presence, he only sparks when other characters inadvertently coax a performance out of him. He’s like the group project slacker, unprepared and banking on others to carry him—spoiler: they don’t.
Sanju Baba’s ghostbuster is a bizarre misfire. Wielding salt guns, iron rods, and even a bazooka (seriously), he seems airlifted from a low-budget action flick. Humorless, unconvincing, and visibly detached, he’s more ghost than buster. Mouni Roy’s Bhootni is a rehash of her Naagin persona—competent but uninspired. Her emotional arc falls flat, and her screams fail to spook. Script or performance? The real mystery outshines the Virgin Tree.
Palak Tiwari, against odds, emerges as a relative bright spot in this chaotic script. She overacts at times, but her stunning screen presence—likely her primary directive—holds attention. Shantanu’s pals, Naseer and Sahil, strain to salvage the film but only drag it further down. Still, Sahil squeezes out a few laughs with his budget Ghalib poetry.
