“Panchayat’s fourth season, now streaming on Prime Video, reunites Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, and Pankaj Jha. Following Season 3’s emotional cliffhanger, expectations were high, but the new season falters in recapturing the show’s original magic.

Set in Phulera, Season 4 centers on a heated local election between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi, with their husbands, Brij Bhushan (Pradhan ji) and Banrakas, driving a chaotic campaign filled with schemes and taunts. However, the overstretched plot feels repetitive and lacks depth, focusing almost entirely on the election at the expense of the subplots that once enriched the series.

The pacing is sluggish, dragging the election resolution to the second half of the finale, by which point the momentum has waned. Key threads from Season 3, like the shooter’s identity, the Sachiv ji–Rinki romance, and the Pradhan ji–Vidhayak rivalry, remain unresolved or stagnant, leaving the broader narrative unfulfilled.

The heart of Panchayat—its vibrant friendships, particularly between Sachiv ji, Vikas, Prahlad, and Chaudhary—feels sidelined.
